In an effort to not reveal the secret I will not post anymore lists untill all of the “batchelors” secrets have been publicized.

Coke Machine and Elevator Tricks
Posted February 17, 2007 by Cyan MarcovichCategories: Easter Eggs
Hi again, it’s been awhile but this update will actually come in handy. There are two parts today, one about the mysterious secret menu in Coke machines, and a more usefull one about elevator secrets. So, let’s get started!
You ever wonder about those Coke machines? Those innocent machines, just waiting for you to spend your money. Would you be amazed at how many people actually use those machines, or how much money it’s currently holding? Well, this is the place. It won’t help you get free drinks, but it’ll be an interesting dive into a debug menu in the coke machine.
To start, make sure it’s a Coke machine. Then, think of the buttons like this:
[LCD display thingy]
[1-Coke or whatever] [2-Another drink] [3-Drink] [4-Drink]
[5-Drink] ……
You get the point. So, punch this in- [4] [2] [3] [1]. Yup. That’s it. Such a simple code, 4-2-3-1. Anyway, most machines will respond with either EROR or SALE on the screen. Here’s the list of functions:
EROR- Don’t touch this function. Simple as that. It’s a debug feature in which the machine tests itself for errors. and yes, it’s spelt with only one R. Simply, don’t touch this.
SALE- Interesting. It shows the total number of sales on the machine (how many people have bought a drink). That’s right, the TOTAL # of sales. If this menu function is there, you’ll probably also be able to browse through SALE1, SALE2, SALE3….. which tells you the number of sales per a drink slot. In total, it’s a cool feature.
CASH- Amount of money currently in the machine. That’s it.
VER- Version number. Only appears on older machines. All machines seem to have the same number.
RTN- Stands for Return. This exits the debug menu. Only works on newer machines, may have to use the alternate methods for exiting.
Anyway, there are the main functions. SALE and CASH are the most useful. Note that it takes approximately 3-5 seconds to open these menus. Also, you may find other functions. Don’t touch the following:
DO NOT TOUCH THESE FUNCTIONS, EVER!!!
RELY, StOS, COn, CCoC, TIME, LANG, tVFL
Okay, now that you know what functions not to touch, here are a few that aren’t usually there. PASS allows you to adjust the password access (4-2-3-1). TEST has various routines, including checking the bill acceptor, button numbers, etc. PrIC allows you to adjust the price for drinks, not sure how it works.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the Coke Machine trick. Now, onto the elevator trick.
Okay, I’m sure you’ve been in a situation like this before. You’re rushing to get who-knows-where, and have to take the elevator a lot of floors up. And, lone behold, it seems like the elevator has to stop at EVERY floor. You end up being late, or miss something, or whatever.
Now, imagine the same situation…. except the elevator never stopped at any other floor. People would be scratching their heads as the elevator shoots on by, while you end up being on time. Wouldn’t that be great?
Normally, you’d need an elevator key to do that. And let me tell you, you won’t be getting one of those keys unless you have really good connections. Still, there’s one other method that works sometimes, in certain elevator models. And when it works, you’re riding the express.
Try this. Hit the destination floor, and the door close buttons at the exact same time. Make sure the door is open when you do this. Guess what? That might just set the elevator into express mode, where it doesn’t stop for anyone until it reaches the floor you hit or another button is pressed from inside.
So, try these out when you can, and enjoy! But know that I am not responsible for what happens because of these statements!
New Mac Mini Foldables

Dear Cyan,
I was looking at my finished Mac Mini foldable and noticed that this was actually a foldable of the original mac! Not that it isn’t great, but since you are in love with Macs why didn’t you know (or say) this?
Signed,
Original Macness
The reason that I called them “Mac Mini foldables” instead of “Original Mac Foldables” is because they are refferred to as Mac Mini’s on the creator’s site and I wanted to honor the talent of th creator. No other reason besides bloggin’ courtesy.
These are links to MORE cute little mac mini foldables:
These are all direct linked so the download window will open and you will (in internet explorer) be prompted to save or open the PDF, or (in firefox) it will -most likely- open the downloads window and start downloading.

Windows Security Vulnerability
Posted February 17, 2007 by Cyan MarcovichCategories: Computers
QUOTED FROM THEAGE.COM:
When Microsoft releases repairs for problems in its software, came and went this week with six critical fixes – including the first one that touches Vista, the new operating system billed as the most secure Windows version yet.The hole registers high on the irony scale: The flaw was in a “malware protection engine” that helps several Microsoft security products – including “Windows Defender” for Vista – guard against online threats. The problem could let an outsider “take complete control” of a victim’s computer, according to Microsoft’s security advisory.
This isn’t to say that Vista had previously appeared clean. Already a few vulnerabilities have popped up – including a remarkably low-tech hack.
In that case, security researchers noted a problem with Vista’s improved speech-recognition system, which lets people speak commands to the computer. It turns out that sounds played over the PC’s speakers – on a malicious website configured for this very purpose, for example – can trigger Vista’s speech-recognition engine and execute commands on a victim’s computer.
Mark Griesi, a security manager at Microsoft, acknowledged that the company was investigating the vulnerability, but said it was unaware of any attacks that exploited it.
There are many factors reducing the likelihood of such an attack. A victim would need to have activated speech-recognition – and have the PC’s microphone and speakers on. And if anything suspicious like “delete all data” were coming through, the user could just shut the sound off.
Still, some observers said Microsoft could have installed protections that would have prevented any problem. That’s not what the company wants to hear as it touts – legitimately, in the eyes of many analysts – “fundamental architectural changes” in the name of computer security.
Joanna Rutkowska, a security researcher for COSEINC, a Singapore-based tech-services company, initially had high praise for Vista. But she said subsequent exploration revealed troubling weaknesses – even in features that are supposed to enhance Vista’s security.
After Rutkowska pointed out such issues, a Microsoft security manager wrote on his blog that Vista had intentionally made accommodations for user convenience and making sure applications worked properly £ and that those decisions did not amount to “security bugs.”
Rutkowska replied that she now wondered whether Vista’s security model was “a big joke.” In an e-mail interview Wednesday, she wrote that she still believed Vista could successfully raise the security bar, “but only if Microsoft changes its attitude.”
“Even though there are some flaws in it currently … they could be fixed over time, if Microsoft put enough effort in doing this,” she wrote. Otherwise, “in a couple of months the security of Vista (from the typical malware’s point of view) will be equal to the security of current XP systems.”

My First LiveCD!
Posted February 17, 2007 by Cyan MarcovichCategories: Me Life
I have just recently (finally) made my first LiveCD. For those of you that don’t know a LiveCD is a CD on which a Linux .iso image is burnt onto. Then you putthe CD in the computer and re-boot the computer. Then you start running from linux. Well, up until now I haven’t been able to burn the image correctly and it wasn’t working. But I used the program ImgBrn to burn the image to the CD and now it works! Otherwise I would have installed Ubuntu on my computer instead of running it from the CD but I didn’t want to partition my hdrive and lose all of my files.
